Covers return air travel, full tuition, a one-off establishment allowance, textbooks, a fortnightly Contribution to Living Expenses, Overseas Student Health Cover for the scholar only, and pre-course English where needed. Housing itself is NOT provided — the establishment allowance is a contribution, not rent, and OSHC excludes dependants and pre-existing conditions. ⚠️ THE HARD SCREEN: applicants from eligible African countries need "at minimum, 5 years of post-graduate work experience" in a field related to their study. Fresh graduates are NOT eligible. Australia Awards also carry a return-home obligation set out in the DFAT Scholarships Policy Handbook — check the current terms, as it constrains post-study plans.
