Columbia "meets 100% of the demonstrated financial need for international students admitted as first-years". But read the two halves separately: admission for internationals is NEED-AWARE — "the student's status as a financial aid applicant is also considered" — so asking for aid CAN affect whether you get in. Columbia is need-blind only for US citizens. "Meets full need" also does not mean free: Columbia decides what your family can pay, and that number is often higher than an Egyptian family expects. ⚠️ THE TRAP THAT COSTS FOUR YEARS: if you do not tick the financial-aid box on your admission application, you cannot apply for aid at ANY point during your degree. There is no second chance in year two.
