EUR 1,400 a month for a research stay of 2 to 12 months for doctoral candidates (2 to 6 months for postdocs), plus insurance, a EUR 460 research allowance and a travel allowance for stays over six months. IMPORTANT: this funds a research STAY, not a PhD place — you must already be registered for a doctorate OUTSIDE Germany and have a confirmed German host. Those doing an entire doctorate at a German university cannot apply. Next Egypt deadline after this one: 11 March 2027.
