CHF 2,450 a month to cover basic living expenses for one person, plus Swiss health-insurance premiums paid by the FCS for non-EU holders, a one-off CHF 600 rental deposit grant and a return flight allowance. THE BIGGEST MISCONCEPTION: tuition is NOT covered — Swiss institutions charge CHF 600-2,000 per semester and you pay that yourself. Runs 12 months, renewable to 36 for a PhD. You must already hold a Master's (this does NOT fund a taught Master's), be born after 31 Dec 1991, and — the step where most applicants fail — secure a Swiss academic supervisor who agrees to host you BEFORE applying. Egypt's own deadline is published in the country factsheet on 20 August 2026. Applications are free; SERI warns against anyone asking for payment.
