The Netherlands runs the most English-friendly classrooms in continental Europe — hundreds of programs, international faculty, and a society that switches to fluent English the moment you hesitate.

Studying in the Netherlands — what to expect

Problem-based learning is the signature: small groups, real cases, and your voice expected in every session. Hierarchy is flat — professors go by first names and expect you to challenge them.

Dutch directness is famous for a reason: feedback comes straight, plans are literal, and "maybe" means no. It reads blunt for a week, then becomes the most refreshing honesty you’ve known.

Life happens on a bicycle, between canal cities an hour apart. The one struggle every student mentions: housing — start the hunt the day you’re admitted, not the week you fly.
